Mounting brackets suck
I’ve read other reviews that said rust starts to form on this and leaves marks on the vehicle so I fixed this while assembling. I used some heat shrink tubing that has glue on the inside instead of the provided rubber bushings. I assembled everything together before I started heating up the tubing. Then shrunk everything down. I’m not a huge fan of the way the middle of this is assembled. It leaves the end of the tubing exposed where water can get in so I put heat shrink over the ends, shrunk everything down. Then put the plate on. Looks like it should keep water out now. I’ve used this style of roof rack before and unfortunately the mounting brackets suck when mounted on a 01 Chevy Tahoe. The bolts are way too long and you can’t tighten them down very well. Since the brackets don’t work with my vehicle I’m going to just make my own that can withstand what I’m wanting to put up top. (Jerry can and a 5 gal tub of water) plus other things. If you plan to put a hard plastic container on top watch out and make sure you aren’t putting them directly on top of the mounting bolts, you can punch holes right through. Good price Good amount of space Paint job seems decent Overall I give a 8/10
